Hebden Bridge Media is a small and ethical zero growth business. This means HBM never operates above capacity, there is no growth agenda, there are no greedy shareholders to satisfy, it's just a plain old simple sustainable business based on good quality, friendly and personal service.
Hebden Bridge Media is owned and operated by Steve Richardson. That's me, and this is the page where I should 'blow my own trumpet', so here goes;
I am a Bachelor of Arts (with honours) in Literature and a Master of Science in Computer Science (with University Colours) and have over 25 years experience designing and programming a wide variety of web sites. From creating my first web pages that consisted solely of black text and blue links back in 1994, over the last two decades I have designed and successfully built brochure websites, online communities, web based applications, eCommerce stores and interactive expert systems.
I specialise in WordPress Theme Development, specifically with the open source Genesis Framework, which, if utilised correctly, offers an excellent solution for almost any small business or project website.
The complexity, sophistication and ease of use afforded by WordPress Gutenberg with the Genesis Framework is incredible. Together these technologies provide a superb content creation and management tool and in combination with bespoke theme functionality, custom blocks, Javascript, PHP programming and programable HTML and CSS output... I can make almost any website vision become a reality.
If you prefer a tailored approach, I can program React style websites using Javascript frameworks like NextJS.
However, when it's time to get really serious, for example when developing Expert Systems, Software as a Service, etc. the approach I recommend would be to program your specifically tailored bespoke functionality in a fully interactive web application using the Laravel Web Application Framework with PHP and Vue JS.
I will cheerfully admit that my determination and attention to detail sometime border on the obsessive; this is a good thing really. I love finding that 'sweet spot' that balances simplicity and maintainability with stunning presentation and rock solid functionality.
Anyway, enough about work, that is only half the story;
In my personal time I am an electronic musician. I enjoy building (and selling) modular synthesisers and I have released two LPs of my own music made with some of these instruments. I am also a keen (but decidedly below average) fell runner and I run over the moors almost every day. I cook and bake from scratch, make pretty good bread, pizza and brew delicious real ales and stouts.
What does this mean?
It means if you need a solid and reliable web designer / programmer / developer for your business or project and you are serious about doing things right in a considered manner and at appropriate cost, you really should get in contact right now!
